International Services

Providing international services is one of the trademarks of the Rotary Club. As one of the newest clubs in district 5180, the first full year of the club was dedicated to establishing a club vision and foundation with meetings and local fundraisers.

Recent election protests, natural disasters and political uprisings have been strewn across our tv sets and newspapers as a constant reminder of how lucky we are not only as individuals, but as a community. The Rotary Club of Rancho Murieta hopes to extend helping hands to those who are in need in the coming months and years to follow.

Committee Chair: Vicki Warner

1)  International Projects --

Maximize our club's contributions by participating in matching-grant projects.

Educate our members on how to direct their Paul Harris contributions to a specific RI project.

Meet with the District to explore the possibility of a District-wide "Gift for Life" project.

Review, on an ongoing basis, other Rotary Clubs' requests for matching funds for their international project.

Set up a Polio Plus night with Bob Mutchler to raise funds over and above our Club's minimum annual contribution.

Request $3,000 from the Luau proceeds for international donations.

2)  Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) --

Meet with the District on guidelines for selecting outbound students.

Recruit and interview candidates for the outbound 2010 exchange experience -- August through October.  Cost to send student to host country -- approximately $500.

Recruit host families for the inbound 2010 student.  Sponsoring cost -- approximately $1,200.

Cover our costs from the proceeds of the St. Pat's party.
